Tagry X08 are true-wireless earbuds that are convenient if you’re looking for decent-quality audio gear for general use such as listening to music during workouts, doing daily work, or making calls. They don’t have the features you would expect from a premium-quality device, but at $35, they are quite a bargain.
Design
Tagry X08 are very much designed like the AirPods Pro. The charging case that is about the same size and fits nicely in the pocket. One good feature is the digital LED display on the case, which shows the power level for the charging case and the earbuds.
The box comes with a charging cable and a set of eartips of different sizes. The earbuds fit snugly and didn’t fell out during workouts. Moreover, the earbuds are IPX5 waterproof, which means you don’t have to worry about sweat, rain, and splashes (but don’t immerse them in water).
Tagry X08 comes in a solid range of colors, including black, pink, purple, white, light blue, and beige.
Features
Tagry X08 has Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity and has a range of about 10-12 meters. The earbuds have smart touch controls for the usual functions such as changing the volume, playing and pausing, and skipping songs.
You can use the earbuds individually to get more playtime out of the battery, but you’ll lose some of the smart touch controls that are unique to each bud.
There are a few things that you might find frustrating. First, the Tagry X08 does not come with a dedicated app, which means you don’t get EQ settings or touch control customization. Second, the audio doesn’t automatically stop when you remove the buds, so make sure to manually stop before taking them off. These are minor details but can be frustrating if you’re used to such features in other earbuds.
Sound quality
Tagry X08 comes with 13mm speakers and triple-layer composite diaphragms. I’m not a sound buff so I can’t give a very professional opinion aside from saying that overall, I was satisfied with the quality in listening to music, calls, and podcasts/videos. When you raise the volume, the sound becomes muffled, something to keep in mind if you like to listen to loud streams (not me).
The microphone was also good for indoor and outdoor calls. Tagry X08 has CVC noise reduction, which worked well in canceling out outdoor and background noise such as traffic, wind and A/C humming.
Battery
Tagry X08 comes with a 470mAh battery. Each bud gives you around six hours of playtime with full charge, and the charging case provides up to four extra charges. So if you use the earbuds one at a time, you can get a maximum of around 60 hours without recharging the case. The charging case supports wireless charging and USB C cable charging.
X08 are well-rounded earbuds. At $35, don’t expect to get an AirPods competitor, but they are worth their value then some.
